I'll be heading for North Carolina tomorrow. I'll be gone for two weeks. Try not to miss me too much. Hahaha. Like anybody reads this damn page anyway. =P

Tonight I performed a ritual I just named as Doing the Dirty Laundry. That's basically where I get so overcome with conflicting emotions that I run into my parents' arms and bawl and admit all the things I've been lying about and all the things that are making me upset. (I haven't done my dirty laundry for a few years now. I suppose it was time.) Among the offenders were Grandma's senility, dad's anger at the prior, and the fact that they're hinting at how I need to come to Jesus. I didn't tell them about not sticking to my diet though... I probably should have done that. But now the window is over. So... oh well.

I also confessed the fact that for the past few weeks I've found myself being driven into psychotic rages where I fantasize creating massive strife and unrest in the family and other people's lives. When I'm in a normal mood, it frightens me that I can get like that. And when I'm like that, I'm only a few anger-inducers away from pushing my father down the stairs and choking my stepmother so she can't say anything against me. But I'm pretty sure I'll never act on any of these feelings. I'll medicate myself even more if I have to. I can't put my future in jeopardy. I can bet my future on Jeopardy!, but I doubt that would pay off. I'm a dum-dum. Hahaha.

Okay, I'll make another post after I get back. Peace, friends. War forever more, enemies!

Brick-kickery! (Chew on THAT, Merriam-Webster!)

Hello! I thought I'd post an update about my forrays into Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Basically, I've done 100 percent of the stuff in episodes 1 thru 3. So in total i've completed 50 percent of the game. I've unlocked most of the major characters and a bunch of smaller ones, some of which don't do shit. I got the garbage pail-looking droid from the sandcrawler. It does NOTHING! It walks at .005 mph and that's about it. I'm still trying to save up for General Grievous. He costs 800,000 lego studs. I'm thinking I should save up 1 million to activate Score X2, and then go on rampages in the levels, attain massive amounts of wealth and then unlock everyone all in one shot. But I really want Grievous. Plus I still need the Emperor. He only costs 275,000. I tried playing through a level as a Droideka (Destroyer Droid.) What a massive failure that was. You hold down the + pad for more than 2 seconds and he starts rolling. Great fast movement, right? Well if you let up on the pad or try to turn in a weird direction, he has to fully stop and set himself up before you can start moving again. While the concept of having invincibility and massive firepower are appealing, I can't see a situation where this character would be useful.
In other news, I created two custom characters: first I matched up all the parts of C3P0 and made it a sith lord with the double saber. Then I matched up all the parts of TC-14 and made it a purple-saber-wielding jedi. It is so funny to watch these characters who look exactly like the droids do double jumps and kick ass with sabers. (Well they don't look exactly like the droids. I had to give them capes :-D) So yeah. Two protocol droids, one sith, one jedi. There may be plans in the works for a spinoff sitcom fic in the style of the odd couple. Stay tuned.
I've completed all the models for episodes 1 thru 3 as well. They're pretty neat. They include the Federation ship seen at the very beginning of the series, Sebulba's podracer, the bongo, and Zam's speeder, among others. As for the minigames, I'm not touching 'em. I didn't buy a star wars game to play cutesy things with a stylus. Just like nobody who was a serious Pokemon trainer played the minigames on Stadium. Those were for their little brothers and sisters who went "Yay yay, Pokemon!" but had not a bloody idea what the series was or about. Although I do have a friend who is my age who said all she did was play the minigames. I'd urge her to seek help but it's a touchy subject. See... she's hot. 'Nuff said.

Okay, later. May the Force be with me. You? You can all suck an egg! Bwahaha. :-P

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://theblogshack.blogspot.com/2007/12/brick-kickery-chew-on-that-merriam.html' title='Brick-kickery! (For lack of a better title...)

Hey everybody. Sorry for not updating for a while. I've had a lot on my mind with finals and ish. But that's all done now and I'm home for winter break! WOOHOO! And yesterday I went to the mall with my best friend and we got stuff and things. WOOHOO! I got the following: A black DS Lite to replace my pink one. WOOHOO! No more raising questions about my orientation!! Aaaand I got Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga! It is a totally awesome game. In it, you can find piles of lego bricks and use them to build switches and platforms. And it's very easy to learn and you can eventually play through any level as any character.

Aaaand finally I got a glass replica lightsaber. The red one that Darth Vader had. It is sweet. I can't wait to bring it back to school. I'll be the baddest mofo in Hill Hall. (Well, not really. Not by any means. But still... Hehe.)

So, what else is going on? Christmas is right around the corner. We'll be spending its eve at my aunt's house as we have for the past few years, and then on the day we'll just be chilling at home. Hopefully that night I can post my newly acquired Friend Code. Ya know, since I'll have wifi for the DS. ^_^ My mom and her fiance are doing something great on Christmas day. They're serving meals at a homeless shelter. The guy has done it for years and years, and this year my mom is joining him. That's a true mitzvah right there. Aaand on New Years Eve my ex-gf Liz is coming over. Well, she's my stepmother's best friend first, my ex-gf second. But it will be nice seeing her again. She's pwetty... haha.

By the way, did I mention that I have a glass lightsaber? Dunno if I did or not. Just making sure.

Come January I'll be leaving for North Carolina with grandma. That should just be a barrel of yuks. No but seriously, I'm looking forward to going on an airplane again, and I can't wait to see my aunt. Ever since she moved far away, I haven't gotten to see her like, at all. They also have a dog, a collie that is HUGE! But he's very old and has arthritis, and so he's very slow and barely has any energy. But back in the day he was frisky and friendly and very very adamant with his barking. My aunt used to have two dogs, but she doesn't anymore.

I haven't checked my grades yet for the semester. When I get them I'll be sure to post them here. I don't expect to pass with flying colors. More like with colors that hover meekly over the ground.

Finally, my Empoleon has hit level 100. This marks the very first non-legendary Pokemon I've raised legitimately to level 100 without using some sort of trick. I'm very proud. Now Empoleon can take on the entire Elite Five by himself. But don't worry: the other members of my original party--Roserade, Machamp, Pachirisu, and Starpator--are helping me in the Tower every day. I'd never put them aside. Although my new Kingler is looking to deal some serious hurting as a physical sweeper. I think I have more physical sweepers than anything else. I think the last special sweeper I raised was Electabuzz. Meh.

Okay I've taken up enough of your time. I leave you with the quote of the post:

"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... blah, blah, blah."
--Star Wars: The Complete Saga instruction manual

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://theblogshack.blogspot.com/2007/12/woohoo-for-lack-of-better-title.html' title='WOOHOO!!!! Not just red and white; blue and dark blue, red and orange, etc. So I thought I'd ask her for one. Her mom said, "Sure, take as many as you want." And from there, I kept going over to her house just to get more candy canes.

Why am I telling you this? I've just been musing on how as a kid I kept clinging to pursuits where, at the time, I thought I'd be set for life and happy as a clam if I could just fulfill them. A pursuit such as acquiring candy canes and eating them late at night alone in my room. Yes, that's what I would do. (That's also what began my now routine bad habit of eating late at night). Or I'll think to myself that if I can just get a certain video game, I'll be set, and nothing else will matter. And then I realize just how stupid, pointless, and futile these pursuits were... and are. Just like every time you take a shower, the tub kinda fills with nice, warm frothy water, but every time, it all drains away, and the tub is left empty and cold with you shivering in it. That's how I find myself feeling these days. Like I drift from one meaningless pursuit to the next but I'm always empty and cold inside. It bothers me. I'm worried that I'll wind up settling into some kind of boring, routine lifestyle and not satisfy any of my inner hungers.

A girl I once knew wanted to become a missionary. Her life would NEVER be boring, and it would have a very strong purpose and she'd be making something of herself. Not that I'd ever want to be a missionary, as anyone who knows my standpoints will tell you, but that's the kind of life that is exciting and meaningful... I want to do something like that gives those same feelings. I don't just want to graduate, get a desk job and then die. But I dunno what to DO. What steps can I take? When I was younger everything was so simple. My job was to go to school. But now that I'm entering the real world it's just so overwhelming... I'm scared, I really am. I don't want to beg for advice, but if anyone has any suggestions, please email me. Streetgamer1984@gmail.com.

AHEM! After the melodrama, how can I entertain you this evening? Well... I'm working on a story where Wario uses his Telmet to get on all the popular TV shows and become world famous. If you've played Wario The Seven (Wario: Master of Disguise) then you know exactly what I'm talking about. First up is "Who Yearns To Be A Billionaire" and then a ripoff of "The Simpsons" or Family Guy, titles changed appropriately.

Finally, I got the Brain Age games. They're cruel. They put my brain's age at 65. I don't think that's true. Plus I tried the Sudoku... that puzzle game is EVIL! I hates it!

Ok folks, good morning!

One December morning

On this December morning, as Comedy Central prepares to air "Last Laugh '07" for the THIRD time (Although this time it's on the stash, so I'll watch it again), I come before you. I prepare for the last week of classes. The last week of classes will probably be easier than their respective finals... especially Legal Business Environment... guh... a take-home final... Hate those. And Stats... don't even TALK about it. Srsly. And this is just a precursor, folks. Stats 2 next semester. Happy happy, joy fucking joy.

I've dropped sufficient hints to ensure that I will be receiving the Nintendo WiFi USB Connector this holiday season. So all you rat bastards who want to challenge me, I'll post my friend code here. And I'll be slapping my white glove all over Gametalk, so keep an eye out for me there too. I go by Caquan. ...It's complicated. I'll also list the games I have that have WiFi powers. Yes. Powers. Ooooh...

Finally, I have limited information that suggests I will be spending a significant portion of January with my Aunt and Uncle who live in North Carolina. I will be traveling with my grandma, which should just be a barrel of laughs. But I'll get to go on a plane for the second time, so that will be nice.

Ok I'm outta here. Keep it as fake as you possibly can; The real world sucks.

Things Near a Close, and Pics For Your Delight

Well, things are coming down to the wire. I have a paper that I actually should be working on right now... Hahaha. I have three pages done, it needs to be like, 7... But whatever. I'm sure I'll get it done in time. And a few other things are getting close to deadline. But I'll be fine. I always am. :-D

Well I've decided that it's probably impossible to get into the Everybody But Paul Academy this semester... It's going to take some time to get over my latest rejection... *sigh* Yeeeaah... moving on.

I did my radio show tonight. My radio show is about video games, it's called the Gaming Hour. You can find the group for it on my Facebook. I talked about Starfox Command and Flash Focus. The former I hailed as glorious, the latter I blasted as a waste. I'll do a whole post about Starfox Command at another time, once I get better at it.

Finally, I have pics! These are from my trip to Otakon 07 last summer with my friends. My friends happen to be the ones in the pic of Buggy.

http://s214.photobucket.com/albums/cc279/TheStreetGamer/

Enjoy!

1 More Day of Classes......

Huzzah! One more day of classes before I bust up out of here for the weekend! I'm ecstatic. I'll be visiting my aunt who lives on Long Island, and lots and lots of family will be there on Turkey Day. I don't eat turkey though... I'm so unAmerican... but the taste of turkey makes me sick, so I always pop something frozen in the microwave. But who cares, it's not about the food. It's about family! And eating so much that you become blobs for the remainder of the day. Er... with said family. ^_^

In other news, I've added a links list on the left side of my page. Only a few there, now. Be sure to check out the talented writer's profile, he has some awesome stuff, including a Powerpuff Girls story of legend. (Don't laugh. It's deep.) Also of note is the link to Project Pyro, the blog of a friend of mine. It says adult content because he talks about some questionable material; there's no pics or anything pornographic on it, though, so I think almost anybody would be all right to visit it. (Except chiddlers, of course.)

My note cards are due in Research Writing tomorrow, and I'm worried. They count for 5% of the final grade for the paper. One of my friends said that you need like 50 note cards. I have like...18. But we'll see how it turns out. Partial credit is good credit to me. Ha, ha, ha, ha.

Finally tonight, I am implementing a new method of training my pokemons: from the egg up, all through wild battles or vs. seeker battles. No more whoring out of the Elite Five for exp. Although I will have to utilize them when my cash needs refilling. TMs in Veilstone are not cheap. Anyway, these Pokemon will be used primarily for contests. I'm raising an Igglybuff now. The reason I didn't just trade a Jigglypuff from Fire Red is because baby Pokemon learn some moves that cannot be learned otherwise, and some of them might be good for contests. My Igglybuff likes Sweet poffins, aka she'll be best in Cute contests, so I'll keep track of the moves she learns as she levels up. (I figure I'll get her to about 50 before stuffing poffins down her throat.) Meanwhile, I'll be raising berries like a motherfucker, since I'm almost out of the berries that produce straight Sweet poffins. I'm so glad the condition boosters aren't color-coded anymore, like in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. That was messed up.

OK, I'm out of here, but not without telling you my latest Status Message, which you can view on my AIM and MSN accounts, if you know them.

"Dude, why did you destroy my Bulls hat?" ... You said to bust a cap in here. "... You're out of the gang."

Ok, out.

~Streety von Gamer

Rejection With a Side of Fic

I'm gonna be a little cryptic here this morning.

So I filed an application to the Everybody Except Paul Academy last night. I thought maybe I had a shot this time; I thought maybe I could persuade them to change their policy. But the Academy was very firm, pointed to their big ol' nameplate, and rejected my application. Now I am of course understanding at times: this representative of the Academy offered some very strong arguments about why they couldn't let me in... I guess I'll just have to put in another application when there's a different representative working. Fwahaha.... *hoom*.. but they won't change their name easily, that's for sure. But I'll get 'em... I'll get 'em all!

In other news, I wrote a fic. Yes, gasp, all that. I'm going to be writing shorter fics for the time being, seeing as how every strong idea I get peters out by the third chapter and I never finish it. Anyway, it's a short and sweet romantic tale of two of the ranger base leaders in Pokemon Ranger. The link is right here:

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3895874/1/Camerons_Gift

If that doesn't turn blue for you, copy and paste it into your browser, as if anybody really needs to be told that nowadays. Also, you can visit my entire library of work by clicking on the link at the extreme bottom of this page, "My Profile of Stories". Just be wary of reading some of the early Harry Potter ones... they're a bit of a train wreck.

Ok... It's 5:10 in the morning and I am going to lie down and try to get a few hours of sleep.

Movie pick of the post: Jackass The Movie. I then awoke at 7:57, and believed it was 7:57 in the morning, which meant I had three minutes to get to my next class. So after a mad scramble and almost killing myself tripping over my backpack, I looked at my watch and it said it was still Wednesday. And that, ladies and gentlemen, was the three minute brain fart.

Things like that have happened to me before. Like when I fall asleep with the radio on, and then an hour later it wakes me up, and I think it's my alarm clock, so I turn it off and start getting ready for school despite it being 2 in the morning.

Anyway... First of all, WTF with Harry's haircut? Yes yes, I know it's the most ancillary of details but still...

Now in my opinion there's a stark difference for snipping a book down to make it a movie and grossly defiling a great story. Despite the fact that I well know that you can't have every last precious detail in the movie, as the first two films tried to do and they sucked balls, some of the cuts they made here were just inexcusable. Allow me to number my hatreds for you.

1. WTF... it's like they did a tesseract to jump from getting rid of Umbridge to saving Sirius. (And there IS such a thing as a tesseract.) Whee, we got rid of Umbridge. And then within about two minutes--not even, if I remember correctly--they were in the department of mysteries, not even showing anything about actually getting inside the ministry or ANYthing. (For those who don''t know what a tesseract is, it's a step in the fourth dimension where you bring two points in time and space together and step across, instead of traveling the whole distance. It's from a book.)

2. Mistletoe in the room of requirement. WHAT THE FUCK. Did they think that they couldn't film a believable kiss scene between Harry and Cho? Rowling managed it in the book just fine. To me this was just taking one too many creative liberties in the film making.

3. Harry wasn't nearly as emo in the film as he was in the book, and I think that's a very important plot point and needs to be kept in.

4. The department of mysteries sequence was painfully short, although I will give them credit for filming an excellent battle sequence.

5. I think one of the most critical plot points in the beginning of the story is the fact that Petunia starts to realize there's some shit going on, and Harry gains some respect for her, if only momentarily.

Ugh. Just, no... I was very upset by this movie, and although it's a given I'm probably going to see Half Blood Prince when it comes out, I just hope I don't hate it as much. What's ironic is that I loved Goblet of Fire to pieces.

And now I leave you with the quote of the post.

"All right, that's it! That's it! I'm going to come back there and so help me God I'm going to slap you with my ring hand!"
~Gregory Peck, to his sons

A Quiz For Your Delight!

Hello! I'm posting again, and there's a lot going on. I beat Pokemon Ranger, which is a Pokemon knockoff. Creatures Inc. got a logo, finally. Yey! Recruit Pokemons by circling them many times with the Capture Styler and use them to clear obstacles and stop natural disasters. Quite fun.

I have a quiz in a little over 15 hours in Statistics where we will cover the entire Random Variable chapter. I have a formula sheet, so hopefully I'll do all right. But gawd, I hate math! Everything should be able to be done qualitatively, with no number crunching. Ah, what a world that would be... *drools*

My blister popped this afternoon.

In other news! I have a quiz for all of you, my devoted readers. If you are a non-google slash blogspot member, then copy and paste this quiz into an email, change my answers to your answers, and send it to me! Send it to Streetgamer1984@gmail.com and make sure the subject line mentions it's my blog quiz. Let's begin!

Da-na-na-na-na-na-na-na A wild Quiz appears!

1. What is your name or nickname? I'm feeling generous. Have one of each. Paul, and Shock Caquan.
2. What is/are your phobia(s)? I don't know the technical term, but I have the fear of being startled by sudden, loud noises, particularly buzzers. Also recovering from Melissophobia, which I *believe* means fear of bees. (Since the name Melissa means honeybee)
5. Are you involved with someone now? If so, describe them briefly. Not right now. But there are hopefuls!
6. Do you enjoy watching TV? List them and/or your most hated celebrity. I'll go with George Cloooney for the former and Paris Hilton for the latter.
13. If you had one wish...? The perfect person for me to love and be loved by for the rest of our lives.
14. How about two more? I hate to use a cliche. But... world peace (if you wouldn't wish for that today, gtfo) and a sizeable fortune upon which to live my life.
15. Your favorite quote? "You're never too old to rock and roll if you're too young to die." --Jethro Tull

Kay! Believe it or not, tons of people come and it can get pretty cutthroat. They give away awesome prizes, too, such as Ipods and TVs and movies. The grand prize is given out via "loser bingo." They call numbers one by one. If a number is on your card, you don't get the grand prize. The person remaining with no numbers called wins. AKA, they are the "biggest loser." I just wish they did this event more than once a month...

To fulfill the second half of my subject line, I finished leveling up a Glaceon, which is the Ice evolution of Eevee. And I must say that Glaceon has the crappiest move pool I've ever encountered. His Attack was in the gutter so I tried to make him a special sweeper. Then I got a bright idea: Give it Facade, and have it hold the Flame Orb. (The Flame Orb inflicts a burn on its holder at the beginning of battle. Therefore: Burned Glaceon: Double power Facade.) So we'll see how that works out. Its other moves are Hail (to boost its evasion thanks to its ability), Ice Beam (naturally) and Sand Attack.

Finally, here's a quote that I found amusing, from Frasier (Which has a plethora of clever quotes to choose from.) The context is that we just found out that young Frasier was having physical encounters with his piano teacher back in the day.

Niles: Piano teacher? You don't mean Miss Woerner, do you?
Martin: Don't tell me this was going on with you too?!
Niles: No, no... you'll be happy to know that while Frasier was getting his Rachmaninofs, I was busy studying piano.

*Canned laughter*

Anyway... I'll report back if I win anything at bingo. I find him hilarious and would totally vote for him. But I suspect it was all a gag from the beginning. One of my contacts said that if things started to get real for Colbert, he and his associates (including Doritos.... *eats one*) could land in some pretty hot water; either that or have Comedy Central turn into a campaign circus for the other candidates. Oh well... at least it gave him something to do to fill the time. (By the way, buy his book. It's hilarious.)

~The Street Gamer

Meet.... me!

Hello.
